Georges Deroux was a 19th-century French violin maker who was born in Mirecourt, France, in 1822. In 1846, he opened his own violin-making workshop in Mirecourt. Gaillard was known for his precision craftsmanship and his ability to produce instruments of exceptional sound quality.
Georges Deroux was active in violin making until his death in 1889 and is now considered one of the most important French violin makers of the 19th century. His instruments are highly sought after by violinists and often fetch high prices at auction.
