This exquisite violin by Azzo Rovescalli from 1931 has a bright dark red finish and is in excellent condition. The tone is wonderfully clear, yet gentle and voluminous. In the upper register, the violin sounds playful and sweet, very Italian. On the low strings, it develops its sonorous sound to its full extent. Overall, the instrument has flexible colour modulations and is optimally balanced. The violin is a concert instrument.
The city of Crema has a unique violin-making tradition. Azzo Rovescalli was Crema's most prominent violin maker in the 20th century. He began playing the violin at a young age and moved to Milan to study at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory of Music. Azzo Rovescalli began his training in Milan, influenced by Leandro Bisiach, where he spent some time learning. He later moved to Romeo Antoniazzi's workshop, where he remained for thirteen years to complete his training as a violin maker. Naturally, his style is largely influenced by the work of Antoniazzi, for whom he worked for a long time.
This violin is a characteristic work by Azzo Rovescalli with excellent tonal qualities. The violin has an original label and is accompanied by a certificate from Eric Blot.
