Jules Gaillard was a French violin maker of the 19th century. He was born in Mirecourt, France, and was the son of Louis Gaillard and brother of Charles Gaillard, who were also violin makers. The young Jules began learning the craft of violin making from his father at an early age and showed talent for it early on.
Gaillard mainly made violins and violas, but also some cellos and double basses. His instruments are known for their clear and balanced sound quality, which is ideal for chamber music and solo concerts.
